Shaping Future Champions: My Experience as a Robotics Club Mentor

Sometimes, the most meaningful achievements don’t happen on an international stage, but rather in a classroom, a workshop, or a small school lab. Over the past few months, I’ve had the chance to be more than just a competitor—I’ve become a guide and mentor to a group of passionate young students in my community.

May 21st was a very special day. A team of students I’ve been supporting from the ground up—teaching them not just how to solder or code, but how to think strategically, work as a team, and trust their own abilities—won third place in the CECYBOT 2025 robotics tournament. Watching them step onto the podium was an experience completely different from winning an award myself. It was deeper, more meaningful.

Since I first started in the world of computer science and robotics, I’ve dreamed of inspiring others. Not just by showing them what’s possible through hard work and dedication, but by sharing the same passion that brought me here. Today, I can say that dream is starting to take shape.

Beyond competitions and medals, I truly believe robotics has the power to change lives. In these students, I saw a reflection of who I was a few years ago—curious, full of questions, and searching for answers. It fills me with pride to now be the one helping them find those answers.

This achievement is just the beginning. Talent is everywhere; it just needs opportunity and someone who believes in it. My goal now, more than ever, is to keep building that path for those who come after me. Because the future of robotics isn’t just found in international competitions… it’s also in every young mind brave enough to create.
